Despite intense war efforts in Al-Anbar to expel the Iraqi Resistance and drive it away from the Syrian borders, the Americans are finding it difficult to influence the balance of power. After almost being targeted by the Hachd al-Chaabi, the latest reports indicate that American forces have been withdrawn inside their campsites. Recent information also indicates the deployment of Hashd fighters along the entire border line with Syria.
Farhan Mohammed al-Dulaimi, a member of the Provincial Council of al-Anbar in Iraq, said on Friday that Iraqi forces had taken full control of the Iraqi-Syrian borders in the western part of the province.
“While the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are fighting hard against the dormant cells of the Daech terrorist group operating near the Iraqi-Syrian borders, Iraqi forces have taken full control of the border crossings between the two countries in order to deal with terrorist infiltration inside Iraqi territory,” al-Dulaimi said before continuing: “With the help of Iraqi air force, Iraqi forces are monitoring the actions of daechists seeking to infiltrate Iraq after losing their strongholds in Syria.
In another part of his remarks, he said the following:
“Iraqi fighters have increased their presence in desert areas near the border fence in order to repel any terrorist attack. Currently, stability prevails on the border lines between the two countries.
Qaem is the main Syrian-Iraqi crossing point that the Americans had been looking at for a very long time. Some reports had even reported the deployment of US forces near Qaem where the Hachds are taking most of their positions.
The Iraqi general’s comments prove that the US has lost a first battle against the Hashd, analysts say. This first battle consists in having under our eyes the evacuation operations of the takfirist agents who fought for years under the Daech banner but who in reality are not only agents.
As a sign of the times, yesterday, Friday, February 22nd, the Iraqi military intelligence services reported the death of the “Daech butcher” on the Iraqi-Syrian borders.
“This is the same person who was in charge of killing the victims,” Iraqi military intelligence unit 15 said in a statement.
Fighters from the Popular Mobilization Units (Hachd al-Chaabi) repelled a daechist attack on the town of al-Shirqat, located in Salaheddine province, on Friday evening.
“Dachists attacked the village of al-Namel in the Baiji district, north of Tikrit. They killed three local police officers and wounded five civilians,” said Salaheddin’s Chief of Operations Mohammad al-Asadi.
He said that clashes were continuing and that military reinforcements had arrived in the village and surrounded the terrorists.
“This attack by the daechists was a reaction to the death of their collaborator, the very person who beheaded Iraqi citizens,” he concluded.
