Police in Paris Attack Demonstrators on Workers’ Day

Thousands of ‘yellow vests’ have returned to the streets of Paris, the French capital, in a protest action on the occasion of International Workers’ Day.

The members of the unions and the retired and student movements, among other sectors, accompany the protest organised in Paris, however, the media report on the clashes between the security forces and the demonstrators towards 13H00 before the demonstration officially started.

In a tense atmosphere, the agents resorted to sting and teargas dispersion grenades against hundreds of demonstrators in the south of the capital, injuring at least one demonstrator at the head, reports the AFP.

Since November 17, 2018, France has been experiencing a wave of mobilizations of the so-called “yellow vests,” the movement that keeps the country’s president, Emmanuel Macron, on the ropes.
