Poll: Israelis believe Netanyahu should resign if charged

Two-thirds of Israelis believe their prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, should resign if he is charged with corruption, according to a poll.

The poll, published on Friday by the Israeli television channel Kan, shows that 36% of those polled think Netanyahu should resign now and another 32 think he should resign if he is charged after a judicial hearing.

In addition, 23% believe that the premier of Israel’s regime should not resign as the law allows him to remain in office and 8% refrained from responding.

The poll was published a day after Israel’s attorney general, Avichai Mandelblit, announced that he would charge the regime’s prime minister with bribery, fraud and breach of trust in three investigations.
