According to the document obtained by the American portal Yahoo News under the “Right of Access to Information”, the American Central Air Force Command (AFCENT) was nominated for the “Air Force Institutional Excellence Award” by the AFCENT-affiliated Air Combat Centre in the United Arab Emirates.
The reason for this application is the training of pilots who participated in the war in Yemen.
“The fighter aircraft personnel of this unit, has advanced the United Arab Emirates F-16 pilot training. By carrying out 243 training flights of a total of 323 hours, 3 pilots trained 4 trainers and 29 war pilots who immediately joined the war in Yemen,” the same document states.
The text informs that the American pilots accompanied the Emirates pilots who participated in the exercise “Red Flag” in the United States.
“6 UAE F-16 fighters were accompanied during their flight for the Red Flag exercise. 150 pilots prepared for operations in Yemen during this difficult exercise,” the document reports.
He also points out that more than 50 air combat and missile formations were provided between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2017 in the UAE and other Arab countries.
