The ballistic unit of the Yemeni army and Ansarallah fired several Zelzal-1-type missiles on Thursday, May 2, at the Saudi army’s positions at the al-Alab crossing point in the Saudi province of Assir.
In addition, Yemeni missile units targeted with Zelzal-1 missiles the meeting place of Saudi military in Harad district, Hajjah governorate, Al-Alam reported.
The Iranian Arabic-language television channel, citing a military source on the ground, reported that the missiles targeted the gathering of Saudi mercenaries east of Jabal al-Nar, in the Harad district, causing extensive damage to the attackers.
The source added that army fighters and Ansarallah fighters had also targeted an armoured vehicle of the Saudi forces in Hayran district.
On another front, a number of mercenaries from the pro-Riyad coalition were killed following a successful operation by Yemeni fighters in the southern Yemeni town of Taëz.
According to Yemeni television channel Al-Masirah, army and Ansarallah forces targeted Saudi mercenaries in Taez, leaving several dead in the ranks of the aggressors.
In recent weeks, Yemeni army forces, accompanied by Ansarallah’s fighters, have gone on the offensive and made spectacular progress on most combat fronts in the country and even beyond its borders.
Saudi Arabia and its allies launched a major military offensive against Yemen in March 2015 to bring resigning President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi back to power. This war has borne no other fruit than the destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure and the death of several tens of thousands of Yemeni civilians. Tens of thousands more were injured.
