Zarif in Trump: USA supports “butchers” in the Middle East

The United States supports “dictators, butchers and extremists” in the Middle East, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted on Wednesday in response to Donald Trump’s verbal attacks against the Islamic Republic.
During his State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday evening (), the American President denounced Iran as the “first state sponsor of terrorism”, a “radical regime that scolded “death to America” and threatened the Jewish people with genocide”.
“His hostility has led America to support dictators, butchers and extremists, who have brought only ruin to our region,” Zarif reacted on Twitter.
“Iranians – including our Jewish compatriots – commemorate 40 years of progress despite American pressure,” he added by referring to the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
